Sunday Sketch for Scrappin' Studio

Check out Scrappin' Studio for Studio Calico Kits, now just next door in Malaysia.  Their blog has the Sunday Sketch and the Weekly Challenges.  They offer different scrapbooking materials and monthly kits.

Anyone want to subscribe and share the shipping charges, just let me know :) :) :)

Their Design Team are like celebrities!  Featured in lots of sites and mags.
Anyway,  am participating in their Sunday Sketch Challenge.  My objective is to practice and learn making LOs (although winning some vouchers won't hurt heehee!).  I've got lots of ideas in my head that i don't know which one to try first.  This is my FIRST-EVER layout and am a bit apprehensive and shy about showing it, but hey, no pain, no gain, hahaha!  Am open to feedback and very willing to learn from criticisms (ouch!) and suggestions.  Am a newbie scrapper and there's much, much, much to be learned.

So here goes...

Title:  POP THEM BUBBLES

A close up.

And another close up, this time for the journaling.

Materials used:
Cardstocks
Transparency
StazOn Opaque - Baby Blue
Americal Crafts Ribbon
Jenny Bowlin Reverse Brown Stickers
American Crafts Foam Thickers
Tsukineko Dew Drop Brilliance - Pearlescent Sky Blue
Glue Dots
Therm-O-Web Vellum Adhesive Runner
Martha Stewart Edge Punch -  Layered Arches

I know the color combination seems weird; i took the colors from the prints of my sons' shirts.  And the ink strokes on the transparency bubbles seem like they've been done by a kid.  A little confession - am no artist  and color combos puzzle me :)  but ask me to build something, i can definitely give it a go, being an engineer :)

Let me know what you think!  Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Can't wait for the next sketch!

Thanks for looking!

Mayol, Thanks for participating in our Sunday Sketch. I love the idea of how you create the bubbles from the transparency. It works! Don't you worry about color combo, just a matter of time you will learn how to mix & match yourself.
