It's been a long holiday here. Made longer by a day because my son's pre-school closed early for the Chinese New Year celebrations. This gives me some extra time for scrapping, yipee!
Here's my take for this week's Scrappin Studio Sunday Sketch (you can find the given sketch here):
This is my youngest son on the beach. Both my sons always get excited on our every visit there. This time, i managed to remember to bring the "beach things" (pails, shovels, moulds, etc.) and the boys had a wonderful time! They enjoyed playing with the sand, getting water from the beach with their pails and yes, their shovels! I just love seeing them carefree like that. Must bring them there more often.
And (hahaha!), that one on the top right corner is not a stain, though it looks like one :-) My first time to use mists and am still getting used to it. Actually wanted it to look like a sun, but i guess i should've lightly misted some more around it to give the effect of sunshine. Lesson learned :)
Also made the starfish embellies. Ok, it's the happy result of an experiment :) Actually, i wasn't sure how it'd turn out; just a spur of the moment idea. So, i've put some Glossy Accent on the cut paper stars, and when they're still a bit wet but almost dry, i've spritzed some Mister Huey Classic Calico on them. Then proceeded to wait a bit more. And...ta-daaa!
Ok, i know it's a small thing, and others might already have this knowledge, but it's "discoveries" like these that gets me excited. Extra happy because it turned out just right for what i need. If it didn't, well, it'd go under the "this is what happens when..." file and another lesson learned. And try again. And again.
Am still struggling with my color combinations. Might have to resort to using the color wheel next time :) Or not, when the Scrappin Studio February kit arrives - am so excited! (Oh, by the way, THANK YOU again to Scrappin Studio for the opportunity to win in the February Kit Reveal Night Giveaway! Have i mentioned that am soooo excited!!!)
Thank you for looking!
