For Scrappin Studio's Weekly Challenge 13June

Hello again, dearest bloggers!

Am back for Scrappin Studio's Weekly Challenge.  The challenge this time is to use 3 to 4 stamps in a layout.  The details can be found *HERE.*

At first, i didn't know where to start, but i already have in mind which photo to use.  It was more like a question of which stamps to use LOL!  In the end, i got carried away and just stamped and stamped, going in and out of the room to choose from my buried stamps.  This challenge is a wonderful excuse to bring them out and let them (the stamps heehee!) see the light of day :)

The photo is of my boys playing at Bedok Reservoir Park, and as usual, they are addicted to going up and down the stairs.

Title:  May Your Travels Lead You

Have stamped the cardstock with Studio Calico's Chicken Wire background stamp with Old Paper Distress Ink.  Then instead of using patterned paper, just stamped what whould have been the background for the photo.  Used also a stamp to frame the said photo.  At the bottom right corner of the paper, i've stamped the image of children happily playing and going somewhere.  I love how this image and the photo connect!  Also used Studio Calico's Bee stamp for something that flies off to so many places :)

Here are some close-ups:
Have brushed with Perfect Pearls powder the bees and the bottom right corner images but the photos above don't show the shimmer.  (note to self:  must learn how to photograph them properly).

Journaling at the bottom reads:  "Life can lead you anywhere - ups and downs.  Remember that experience is the best teacher.  Learn from the best. 22062011."

'Twas actually fun doing this challenge, using stamps.  The only patterned paper i used was the title tag on the top corner!  Sshhh...a secret...wouldn't have used this title tag had i not stamped the title twice and misaligned it - aargh!!!  But it's ok...embrace imperfection...i do :)  And the important thing is documenting this memory.

Materials:  Cardstock; patterned paper - Cosmo Cricket; stamps - Studio Calico (Chicken Wire Background Stamp 4"x6", Vintage Bumble Bee Stamp, Numbers Border Stamp, Hot Air Balloon Stamp frame, Honeycomb stamp), Flourishes "Kids Play" set, Inkadinkado "Amazing Travels" stamp; Distress Inks; Perfect Pearls.

Thank you for visiting!
