Christmas Cards: Using Some or No Patterned Paper

Good day!  It's back to Christmas-posting once again.  This is my "Almost Done With Christmas Cards" post heehee!  Now, Christmas tags, erm, that's another story LOL!

Here are cards i made where i did not concentrate on choosing patterned papers, only cardstocks.  The ones that have PPs are at the bottom of the post; they are the results of me trying out this and that :)

Used a Sizzix embossing folder on cardstock.  Afterwards, i swiped the raised areas with white ink (Brilliance - Moonlight White).  Wrapped AC white ribbon around colored cardstock before adhering to card base.  My swiping skills need more practice :)

Have been searching for Nativity stamps before PTI introduced their October sneak peeks.  This image is from Stampendous Sacred Silhouette cling stamp.  Layered Stickle-d circle (Sizzix Framelits) and lacey circles (Spellbinders) on top of card base.  At the bottom are layered double-ended fishtail banners.  Sentiment is from PTI Christmas Blessings set, with Versafine ink.  Have spritzed the completed card with Maya Road mist.

Almost same style as above, but used different colors of cardstock.  Yes, i know; the different hues of green do not really complement each other :)

Used again the decreasing aperture technique using PTI Limitless Layers 1.75" and Spellbinders Labels 17.  Stamp is from Hero Arts.  Sentiment is from PTI Christmas Blessings set, stamped with Brilliance Moonlight White.  Have again spritzed the completed card with Maya Road mist.
Card base is kraft cardstock.  Image is from Stampendous Manger Peace set, stamped with Versafine.  Sentiment is from Hero Arts.  Have placed die-cut from Limitless Layers on opposite diagonals, with Kaisercraft pearls on them.  Stickles have been placed on the edges.  Again sprayed the completed card with Maya Road mist.

If you noticed this is a larger photo than the rest, it's because i made it so heehee! i wanted to use my (neglected) embossing folders for some cards and this is my first experiment on how i'd build my card using it.  I had a basic idea of how i wanted it to look like, but in the midst of it all, i made a mistake and so i tried to cover it up.  And so there are more elements that ended up there than i intended LOL!  It's one of my favorites, though :) And i love how, when we make mistakes on a layout or a card, and we remedy them, it just thrills me that we end up with something nicer or better-looking than we originally intended :)
(Sizzix embossing folder, Spellbinders Lacey Circles, Sizzix Framelits, Maya Road trim & flowers, PTI sentiment, Stampendous image, Kaisercraft pearls, white pearl strings, Versafine)

Here are the ones using PPs:

Cardstock - Kraft; paper - DCWV; stamps - PTI Stylish Sentiments: Holiday, Holiday Lights, Holiday Photo Finishers; ink - Versafine, Versacolor, Brilliance; die - PTI Christmas Tree.

Have embossed the DCWV paper with Sizzix folder.  Stamps are from PTI Stylish Sentiments: Holiday, Holiday Lights; ink - Versafine, Versacolor.

Have stamped the red card base with Versamark Dazzle using Prima stamp.  Layered a fence-punched (Martha Stewart) green cardstock on it before adhering PTI die-cut Christmas tree (paper is from Cosmo Cricket).  Stamped star and sentiment are from PTI Stylish Sentiments:  Holiday; ink used is Brilliance Moonlight White.

So there goes another Christmas card parade.  Some of them turned out great, others need more sprucing up :)

Again, thank you so much for looking!

How's your Christmas planning going?  Remember, when you feel there's just too much to do, take a look at your craft creations, even for a minute.  They would surely help make you feel better :)
