Am posting this layout for one of our local scrapbooking stores here in Singapore. They are hosting a series of challenges and this one is MWL Scrap This and That #6: Piradee's Challenge. My first time to join in this series; had been busy with the Christmas holidays during December and settling the boys in school this January. And am always eager to participate whenever Piradee Talvanna hosts a challenge at MWL :) Am one of her big fans! i just love her scrapbook pages - so clean and balanced. And yes, she's one of Creating Keepsakes' Dream Team. She's a DT for Lily Bee, American Crafts and Pink Paislee and once a guest designer for My Mind's Eye, and of course, the place i love to visit: Made With Love :) Yep, i just love her style!
This LO is about the day when my eldest got his eyeglasses after being fitted. Five years old and wearing glasses!!! My husband and i were so surprised to learn he is near-sighted. And we learned that it could only get worse if not corrected early on, as compared to being far-sighted. It's good, though, that yellow frames were available at the frame shop - yellow is his favorite :) It actually was the ONLY yellow frame in the shop!
These days, he has gotten used to wearing it and not too bothered by it anymore. He'd put them on on his own accord, although he keeps forgetting where he leaves them when he takes them off, little boy that he is.
i followed Shimelle Laine's SKETCH. The simple color blocking made it easier for me to arrange my papers - a task in which i always spend so much time.
Did some simple stamping and placed a number of buttons on them. Also stickers. Can you spot the eyes? :) For the journalling, i've written it on a PTI die-cut.
Supplies: Cardstock - American Crafts; patterned papers - Studio Calico, Pebbles, American Crafts, Echo Park (all from SC kit); alphas - American Crafts Thickers; stickers - Sassafrass Lass/Studio Calico; stamp - Papertrey Ink "Boy Basics: Simple Circles;" die - PTI "Half and Half;" buttons - PTI (Harvest Gold, Dark Chocolate, Simply Chartreuse, Classic Kraft); ink - Papertrey Ink Classic Kraft; adhesive - Helmar, Zig.
Have a great weekend!
Thanks for stopping by!
