Card for Papertrey Ink MIM #69

Hello again!

Posting a card today for Papertrey Ink's  Make-It-Monday #69: Inspiration Into Unique Sketches.

Nichole Heady discussed how she found inspiration pieces and used them as card sketches.  Yes, inspiration is everywhere! :)

Here's the sketch i chose to use:

Here's my card:

Instead of the banner strips, i have stamped the image (lines with circles) from Background Basics:  Retro in different colors and (what i hope are) varying lengths.  This was after stamping the same image in Distress Ink (Tumbled Glass) as background.  In retrospect, i should've placed some small embellishments (rhinestones, maybe) on the bottom left corner of the sentiment block to balance the sun image :)

I've also used the Picnic Plaid Impression Plate, but the effect is very faint (i've used only one embossing mat instead of two).

Thank you for taking time to visit!  It means a lot to me!

Supply list:  Cardstock - AC; stamps (Background Basics: Retro, Movers and Shakers Sentiments, Back Pocket Basics), ink (Pure Poppy, Canyon Clay, Harvest Gold, New Leaf, Winter Wisteria, Lavender Moon) , dies (Back Pocket Basics, Fillable Frames #1), impression plate (Picnic Plaid) - Papertrey Ink; others - TH Distress Ink (Tumbled Glass), Tonic Studios duo punch; adhesives - Kokuyo Dot Liner, AC This to That, EK Success.

Mayol, that is a gorgeous card! Love how the inked edges makes the white fade into the blue cardbase and how there are two layers of background circles.

Love the "banners" in each color. Very creative Mayol.

Mayol, this is one of the cutest cards I've ever seen! Your retro circles background for both rain and the rainbow is inspired! I think the card is balanced beautifully as is--no need for the rhinestones in my opinion. Love this card!

What a fun intrepretation of the sketch. And that is my favorite stamp from the background basics retro set.

Cute card. I like your take on the sketch. Great idea to stamp the background in a solid color with the rainbow on top.

This card is so fabulous...I love that stamp and have to put it on my wish list. Love how you made a rainbow out of it and that sweet smiling sun, just too adorable.
